Barn Demolition

I think its kind of ironical that, in order to have to build something, we have to destroy something first, but that's the way it worked.

Yesterday we kids began trying to get the weather vane off the top of the barn. Our methods ranged from grappling it with hammers tied to enormous lines of twine to building giant sling shots out of bungee cords. In the end, Dad climbed on top of the barn and got the weather vane (I think he might have gotten tired of us throwing sticks and hammers in the air.)

Bright and early this morning the demolition began. It fast went from looking like this:

To looking like this:

And from there, it only went down hill :-)

To quote Nathaniel: "That's not something you want to mess with when it gets mad."
You know, when you watch that thing crush concrete, it's not hard to believe it could get mad. :-)

Tomorrow, we burn. That's going to be be one heck of a bonfire; anyone else for s'mores?
